Perennial herbs, main stem creeping, branches erect, 10–60 cm tall.
Leaves petiolate, ovate to elliptic, 2–9 cm long, 1–5 cm wide, apex obtuse, base attenuate, margins serrulate, scabrous, lower surface sparsely glandular, hirsute along veins; petioles 5–25 mm long, pubescent.
Flowers sessile, solitary or in short-pedunculate head-like spikes. Calyx 6–8 mm long, cleft to below middle, glandular-hirsute, ebracteolate; lobes 5–6 mm long;. Corolla tubular, yellow with purple streaks, 13–15 mm long; tube 9–12 mm long.
Capsule ovoid, 5–6 mm long, ca. 3 mm across.
